Job Description

Marine Travelift is excited to be adding a Mechanical Engineer to our team in Sturgeon Bay, WI. The Mechanical Engineer will be involved in the development and improvement of our custom lifting machines. Our Mechanical Engineers design mechanical components as well as improve product processes using computer-aided drafting tools (SolidWorks).

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new and existing products
  • Generate working prototypes and testing processes for new products
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
  • Understand manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, material requirements, and other pertinent information to facilitate the production processes
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to continue product development
  • Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
  • Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
  • All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years working in engineering
  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
  • Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
